Times Like These

Why, when you think you have it together, do you start rethinking everything?

Words fail me tonight. I can't find them when I'd most like to. I'm thinking of do-overs and looking ahead, some kind of change. Maybe I just need to go for a long walk in the sunshine.

Here is Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters singing "Times Like These". I believe he is singing what I'm feeling.

Isn't it crazy how music becomes the storytellers? I think we've lost something from the oral culture. We don't have enough memorized stories. The elderly are all in nursing homes. So, we learn essential truth from Dave Grohl (or in my case, Sufjan Stevens)

I kinda lean toward the Beatles and James Taylor, but maybe that's just 'cause I'm an old guy.
We all seem to have those days, and sometimes the days turn into weeks and months. But keep turning your head to the sky, taking deep breaths and smiling so much people wonder what you've been up to. Nice site.
I've written a novel about the amazing adventures of a veteran middle school teacher. It is soon to be published. The first chapter can be previewed at www.tomsboomertimes.blogspot.com.
I invite you and all your readers to check it out when you get a minute. Take care.

I am relating to your thoughts about rethinking when you think you have it all figured out. I do this. It drives me nuts but I am so glad I do because where would we be without questioning and self -reflection and music!!
